No Pipe Dream has made great strides to stop the proposed Thornton pipeline down Douglas Road and CR56. However, Thornton has not abandoned these routes, despite the Commissioner's voting against them. Instead, Thornton filed a lawsuit with Larimer County and hopes to win the right to use one of the two routes, with the good possibility of the NISP pipeline following suit. Thornton protests the river route, we, along with Save the Poudre , continue to promote that route.

No Pipe Dream gained a seat at the table by intervening in the lawsuit, which means:

In law, intervention is a procedure to allow a nonparty, called intervenor to join ongoing litigation, either as a matter of right or at the discretion of the court, without the permission of the original litigants. The basic rationale for intervention is that a judgment in a particular case may affect the rights of nonparties, who ideally should have the right to be heard.

By keeping our presence known and our lawyer at the table, the county is less likely to settle with Thornton on a northern route and more likely to push for the river route.

***Now, we added another important cause to our fight: NISP***

NISP is likely the largest water project NOCO has ever seen. It threatens the Poudre River and our Northern way of life, with a second, 54" pipeline. To fight NISP, we have hired a second lawyer.
